Boone

I am getting a lot of glowing reports on my pups, it is what keeps me going. I am slowly downsizing and the plan is to be done breeding Doodles in 3 1/2 years, hopefully I can hang on until then. I have some seriously old dogs here now, some of the foundation males are getting up there but still healthy and happy. Becki-Sue, my old Jack Russell will be 14 in November and is still raising cane with the gopher holes. Boone’s family sent us these pictures and told us:

Has been awhile since I updated you on Boone. I didn’t think we could adore someone as much as we do Boone. What a people person kinda breed. He absolutely loves being with us as much as we love being with him. His favorite activity is going to the dog park and chasing his ball, finding mud puddles and laying in the creek. This summer we introduced him to the pontoon and he LOVES it (as you can see in one of the pictures). We are off to the lake this weekend for more fun on the boat and on the beach.

————————————————————-

Here is an update on Boone! This is the first time anyone has sent me pictures of one of my Doodle with a full years coat on him…..holy cow! He will be a year old this month and I am betting he is looking forward to spring and his first hair cut, not so much his little operation that is on the horizon. Looks like he has scored himself a castle with loving servants in it! His family wrote:

As it gets closer to Boone’s one year birthday I thought I should update you on how well this big beautiful boy is doing. The pictures I have attached were taken recently, isn’t he absolutely gorgeous, we love him so much. We have yet to shave him, my family likes the long bushy look but he will be getting shaved for the spring because we have a place out at Katepwa and could be hard to find wood ticks with all this hair.

Anyway about Boone, he is big ball of energy. Loves going for walks and being outside, especially after it snows and my husband shovels. He is so affectionate and loving. We have had no health issues with him. In the next month or two we will be getting him fixed. Our vet told us they like to wait now till they are one year old, something to due with their hips.

Thank you again for this big beauty. After he gets his first haircut I will send pictures.

——————————————————-

Some updated pictures of Boone, whose owners wrote:

Thought I would send an updated picture of Boone. He is doing great, a ball of energy and we love him to pieces. He loves the water, can’t keep him out of the sprinkler when I water the grass. Can’t wait to take him to the lake this weekend.

—————————————————–

An update from Boone’s owners reads:

Just a little update on Boone. The picture is after running around in the
yard in the snow and now he is having a nap beside me.

He is doing really good. He is doing awesome with the potty training,
hasn’t messed in the house for quite a few days now, helps that I am at
home with him. And he is such a good sleeper and very cuddly at night. The
family absolutely adores him, my sons can’t wait to see how big he is
going to get.

————————————————–

We’ve already received an update from Boone’s happy owners! He seems to be having no trouble adjusting to his new life:

Boone has adjusted very well to his new home. He is loving playing outside in the yard, discovery new things every day. We enjoy him so much. No crying at night and we only have to get up with him once to take him outside. My boys absolutely love him! This weekend he is going on a car ride to our trailer at Katepwa Lake. We are really excited to see him out there this year with all the birds and squirrels.

———————————————–

Boone is from Darby and Cesar‘s litter born Feb. 26, 2013.  His new owners are already in love and told us:

We have only had him for a few hours and we are so in love with Boone.
Thank you again and I will keep you updated with pictures as he grows up.

F1B Golden Doodle Litter (Darby) – Born February 26, 2013

All Darby’s puppies have now been SOLD!

Darby and Cesar now have only two pups available out of their whopping litter of 14 born Feb. 26th. 2013.   One male and one female, both mid size in the litter.   These guys are F1B so will be non shedding, they have had three sets of boosters and have been dewormed twice….. they were bottle supplemented so there is no need to say they are very well handled.

The female would like to be the boss of these two but the male is not taking a back seat to her ‘womanly ways’.   It is very entertaining to watch them interact with toys and copy cat ‘You are having a drink so I guess I should have one also’ ways.   These two are a pair of ‘tail wagging rascals’, it was hard to get as many good (well mediocre) pictures of them today as they were steadily tail wagging and wanting to play with the straw…. it was mission impossible to get pictures without a blur for a tail…. they are such happy pups, it really has been a pleasure to personally know each of them.   They are $900, that is delivered safely into your arms price.

—————————————————————————————————

Darby and Cesar now have only four males and two females to choose from out of their litter of 14 born Feb. 26th, 2013. These pups are non shedding, have very much Retriever heads, loose curly coats with proud tail carriage. They are very well handled (they were bottle supplemented the first four weeks of their life to help poor Darby out), great about having nails done and have lots of good manners with no bad habits being allowed to start. These pups are easy to train as they strive to try to please their people. Darby is (in my eyes) the best Golden Doodle I have ever raised, she will now be retiring and going to her forever family in the spring. These will be loyal, clean, family orientated dogs that will be a valued member of your family for many years. They are very kid orientated and do well at agility or obedience. Dew claws have been removed and two sets of boosters, a complete vet check and two rounds of deworming have been done, next boosters are due May 8th. For more information or pictures refer to the pup by the toy that is with it in the pictures and I will send all I took of that pup. Call 306 792-2113 or text 306 521-1371 or use my contact page.

————————————————————-

Darby and Cesar now have only 6 males and two female pups left (the smallest and one mid size, both are black, wavy to curly coated) for adoption. They were born on Feb. 26th, they had their complete vet check April 17th, the same day as these pictures were taken.

Dew claws have been removed, two sets of shots and deworming have been done. These guys were bottle supplemented for the first 4 weeks of their life so needless to say they are very well handled, nails have been nipped weekly, paw massages are given daily, they are laid on their back for submission and were imprinted at birth and at regular intervals in between. They are eating very well from a dish, pee and poop in one area of their pen, have not been allowed to put feet up on anyone, lick or tug on clothing….my pups leave me with lots of manners. They have had access to a crate with the door off since they were 5 weeks old, they play and nap in it, so they will not be hard to crate train.

For more pictures of a certain pup refer to it by the stuffy or toy in the pictures of him and I will send you all the pictures I took of that puppy. You can call 306 792-2113 or text 306 521-1371 or use my contact page….or so all three!

————————————————————

Darby and Cesar had 14 puppies on Feb. 28th. and we are extremely happy to say that all 14 are healthy, happy, robust little characters that are now off the bottle and eating from a dish. It was a very long month with bundling up and going to the barn with warm bottles several times a day (and night)! I bottle supplemented all 14 puppies around the clock, until they were four weeks old, to help Darby manage to keep them fed….she alone kept them clean and warm and did an amazing job. This is her third and final litter, she has a home waiting for her with twin boys to love her to bits!

The pups are now on a dish and their little tummies can finally hold enough bedtime supper to make it through until morning. I have split this litter into two pens, one for boys and one for girls, as it is impossible to keep a pen clean with 14 pups in it! Darby is switched over every 6 to 8 hours and gets an hour break in the excersise pen in between. My mothers all have a deep sided packing crate they can get into when they need a break as pups at this age are relentless if they want to suck, it is incredibly funny to watch her waddle over to the box with several puppies attached, and all of a sudden hop into the box. The look on the pups faces is priceless! All of a sudden she is gone, ‘we can smell her but where is she’ looks on their sweet little faces.

These pup are non shedding, Pluto the Grandfathers genetics came through strong with every pup being black (Darby is Apricot and Cesar is Chocolate), and if they are even half as loyal and smart as their Grandpa you will be adopting a winner! I breed for temperament and confirmation, not color and I am just thrilled that all 14 made it, they were very small when they were born with that many in there and Darby looked like she had eaten a bag of watermelons!

I do not even need to say, but will anyway, they are very well handled. They are 5 weeks old now and already all go out of the whelping box to pee and poop in the designated area, they come when I whistle and last week the tail wagging began, this week a few have ‘voiced their opinion’ with a little puppy bark.

Delivery will be when they are a full 8 weeks old. Dew claws are removed, two sets of boosters, deworming and a total vet check will be done before delivery. The price is $900 and that price includes delivery to a town or city near you in Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba, any one in the north of those provinces will have to drive part way to meet me. I do not ship my pups, I drive them and place them safely and untraumatized into your arms. It is mandatory that you meet me with a crate to transport your puppy safely to your home…no crate, no puppy! I am an advocate of having a pet secured in your vehicle the same as a child.

If one particular pup catches your eye please let me know and I will send all the pictures I took of that puppy. Call 306 792-2113 or text 306 521-1371 or use my contact page and I will get back to you ASAP. I have just began to advertise this litter and four are already spoken for.

—————————————————-

Born February 26th and making their individual debut are all 14 of Darby’s puppies, safe and sound and a month old. Einstein is the father.   This took a lot of work for the little ones, as everyone knows there are not 14 places at the table for meal time, so the little ones get pushed off. This is where ‘The Grammie’ comes in, with warm bottles every few hours…..and I am sure that if I had not helped, at least one of these little characters would not be here! These pups will be ready to go when they are a full 8 weeks old on April 23rd.

These are active pups, I split the litter last week end, so there are 6 females in one whelping box and 8 males in the other…..they get Darby rotated between them when I go out to bottle, while I am bottle feeding she is in the exercise yard having a little time out from duties. This week the pups will start on a dish, they are just cutting teeth now.

These are guaranteed non-shedders, dew claws are removed and I don’t need to say how well handled they are. There is only one male with a real Retriever-like coat texture, the rest are wavy to curly but I can assure you Darby must have callouses on her tongue because they are all kept shiny clean. I didn’t get the best of pictures this time, it was cold and when I would take them out from under the heat lamp they would shiver (and so would I) and they want to run to me and right off the edge of the chair….so these are the best of the worst. We will try to do better next week, when they will have dog food on their faces. If you see a pup that ‘catches your eye’ let me know by the stuffy that is in the picture with it and I will send you all I took of that puppy. We may try a short video for buyers that have picked a certain pup. These pups are $900 delivered to major cities, if you are too far away you will need to meet me part way as I do not ship my pups. I have to know what has happened to them between when they leave me and arrive with you. My Saskatchewan contact number is 306 521-1371 for Texts or you can call the house number which is 306 792-2113 and leave a message.

Here is a first look at Darby’s newest litter. 14 beautiful puppies and all black! Keep watching for more info and new pictures. In the meantime, here is a great video for you to watch:

Gus

Gus’s family sent us this pictures and a little update:

I have attached a picture of Gus from August when we spent a day canoeing down the North Saskatchewan river. This was taken during our lunch break. He is a good guy and is doing very well.

I think that he has stopped growing and is 70 lbs. How does this compare to Darby, Einstein, and Gus` siblings? About 3 weeks ago we were in the woods and he got about 1,000 burrs on his fur. I thought that I could brush them out but this was impossible. My daughter Connie (who was with me when we met you to pick up Gus on highway 16) and I spent about 2.5 hours giving him a hair cut to get the burrs out. Shelley thinks he looks like a girl now.

He is getting better at catching the Frisbee and loves to fetch… until he sees another dog that is.

—————————————————————

Gus is one of Darby’s/Einstein’s pups from last year. She is due any minute with her last litter but this time she is bred to Cesar, the chocolate Standard Poodle. Gus’s owners sent us a “first birthday” update:

I thought that I would send you an update on Gus since his first birthday was yesterday (Feb. 17). Gus was from Darby and Einstein`s litter last year. Gus is a great dog. We have completed basic obedience and he is doing well with all of the basic commands. Recall is a challenge if there are distractions however. He is becoming a good frisbee retriever and loves to retrieve a duck toy that we have.

He thrives in our busy house and gets 3 walks every day. My daughters and wife have a schedule for walks and I take the evening shift each day and most weekend walks. I plan to soon enroll us in the beyond basics obedience class.

I have attached 2 photos. The one with the boots is from November and the one in front of the door is from yesterday just before we gave him a trim. He is 64 lbs.

—————————————————–

This is Gus! He lives in Edmonton and is one of Darby and Einstein‘s Feb. 17th. pups. His happy owners told us:

I thought that you may like to hear an update regarding Gus and I have attached a picture of him from today.

He is quite a happy puppy and he has been enjoying having family around all day long (since it is still summer). He typically has 3 walks per day but on the particularly hot days he only goes for two. It seems that he is not interested in a mid afternoon walk when it is very warm. There is a creek in the ravine near our house that he likes to play in. Also, he did a little swimming in Sylvan Lake this summer. He seemed to be a natural at it.

Tomorrow we have an appointment for him to be neutered. Not a happy day, but hopefully it all goes well.

He continues to get along really well with other dogs, and enjoys playing and romping around. In September we will probably sign up Gus for obedience school so that he learns a few more commands.

He is great at sleeping in his kennel every night, and also is well trained for not having accidents in the house.

Gabby

Gabby is one of Darby and Einstein‘s pups from her spring litter. Gabby is doing great with a loving family to dote on her. They wrote to let us know:

Gabby is doing fantastic. We start puppy school in July. But she already sits, lays, rolls over, and sometimes stays. When we walk she sits at every curb before we cross. I am starting to run with her which I thought would wear her out but it seems to energize her! She kennels at night and doesn’t make a peep until we get up. She is very good with the kids. She knows not to nip but she loves to chew. She does dig a little but not too bad. We tend to fill in the hole and she doesn’t bother it (for a while anyway). She has lots of toys and she knows which are hers and which are the kids. When she wants some attention she’ll grab one of the kids toys! She really is a joy and she’s gorgeous to boot. The vet said she was a “rock star” dog. What can I say. Thanks again for a wonderful puppy!

F1B Golden Doodle Litter (Darby) – Born Fabruary 17, 2012

All Darby’s puppies have now been SOLD!

Darby and Einstein now have only one male F1B Golden Doodle left available. He is a non shedding, very soft, cuddly character with a real clown personality. During picture taking he checks on the cats, throws his stuffy on the floor or tosses it in the air, wags his tail and is just a joy to have as the subject of my photo shoot. This pup now has three sets of boosters, has been dewormed three times, is completely vet checked, dew claws have been removed and he is ready to dazzle you with his antics. He is fairly familiar with his crate and it will not take long to crate and house train this pup…..he catches on quickly to what is wanted, he has started to fetch his toy for me. The price is $900 delivered to Edmonton and south, Regina is this Saturday and Saskatoon will be left open. For more information call 1 306 792-2113.

—————————————————————————————————-

These are Darby’s last two pups out of her litter of 12 born Feb. 17th, 2012. They are F1B Golden Doodles and are non shedding, super well handled, intelligent and happy little characters. I am delivering to Alberta this Friday, April 27th. and Saturday the 28th. They have two sets of boosters and have been dewormed twice. They are trained to go to the bathroom in one small area of a very large pen. They come when they are called, keep their feet off unless they are invited up and do no use their mouth (i.e.: licking) so are right ready to start some one on one training. They sleep in a crate with the door off so crate training will be fast. The price of the pups include delivery to major cities in the three prairie provinces. My phone number is 306 792-2113.

—————————————————————————————————-

Darby and Einstein now have only four pups available out of their Feb. 17th litter of twelve. They are 8 weeks old today and have had two sets of boosters, have been dewormed twice and are completely vet checked. They are $900 delivered to main cities in central and south Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. If one of these pups catches your eye let me know and I will send all the pictures I have taken of it today.

—————————————————————————————————-

Darby has three male pups left available (pictured with the blue octopus, purple octopus, and lion stuffies). They are F1B Golden Doodles sired by Einstein and born Feb. 17th. These are non shedding, intelligent and clean pups that will mature from 50 to 65 lbs. These pups have never been allowed to lick or put their feet on me when I am standing. Sitting is their invitation to crawl into my lap for love and pets. These are very well handled pups that will turn into awesome dogs!

She has only two females left to choose from (pictured with pink octopus and yellow ring/rope toy). Both are curly coated. They will grow into non shedding, intelligent, clean and loyal dogs.

These pups will be ready to go the 14th of April and they will have two sets of boosters, be dewormed and completely vet checked. They are $900 delivered to main cities in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. For more information call 306 792-2113 or use the contact page to get in touch with me.

—————————————————————————————————-

Today was picture update day for Darby’s pups, there are now only two females and three males available. All seven that are spoken for are staying in Saskatchewan, that is a first as most of my pups have been going to Alberta. They are eating from a dish now and just starting to sample the dry food.

Darby is still milking pretty heavy so these characters eat, sleep, pee, poop and play….oh, to be a dog! The pups start leaving for their new homes mid April, one is staying until the end of April until her new home is ready for her.

For more information on these cuties call 306 792-2113 or use the contact page to get in touch with me.

—————————————————————————————————-

This barrel of monkeys are Darby and Einstein’s last three male pups, F1B Golden Doodles, born Feb. 17th, 2012. They are the smallest of the males, the three big guys are already spoken for. They have cut their teeth and are now eating out of a dish and refusing the bottle. So between Darby and the food going through the blender we are well on our way.

These are exceptionally well handled pups, even for me who plays with them every day, as they have been bottle supplemented around the clock for a month. The ones who have names are already responding to their names, these are Cracker Jack smart pups that will be a joy to own and you will be proud to be seen with. In my opinion Darby is my best F1 Golden Doodle for confirmation and temperament and it shows on this litter!  Check out her available females below!

These guys are $900 delivered to major cities in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. They are two year health guaranteed, will be dewormed and have two sets of boosters….and they come with lots of instructions. I stick by my pups and my buyers, I am only an e-mail or phone call away. I have worked hard to get to where I am with my Doodles and have kept my price fair. Once the new Chocolate Standard Poodle, Cesar, comes into play with my breeding program I will be raising my price. My vet and dog food prices have gone up and I have absorbed that cost so fair is fair.

There are now only three F1B Golden Doodle females available from Darby and Einstein’s Feb. 17th litter. These bright eyed little beauties were very hard to take pictures of today… all they wanted to do was play with their toys and try to run off the bales into my arms.

They are now eating from a dish supplemented by Darby. They have refused the bottle, they just want to chew the nipple now. Paw massages and gum rubs are their favorite things to have done to them these days, they are climbing out of the whelping box to go pee and poop where Darby goes now, so they will be easy to housetrain. If one of these girls interests you please let me know and I will send all the pictures I took today of that particular pup (tell me what stuffy is in the picture with it so I can use that as my reference).

—————————————————————————————————-

These are the 7 pups left available in Darby’s litter. The individual pictures were taken March 12, 2012. The pups are just cutting teeth now so next week will start on a dish, it is a good thing they have a mum so willing to lick the remains off as this can be a pretty messy business for the first week. If you would like pictures of any certain pup please refer to it by the stuffy or toy it has with it and I will gladly send you more pictures of that pup. I try to update pictures weekly, pictures of pups that are spoken for go only to their new family.

The bottle feeding and whelping pen pictures were taken March 13, 2012, yukking it up with Grammie in the whelping box. Next week we go on to a dish and that is always fun because it takes a few walks through the dish to figure out that only our mouth is supposed to go in. Then we manage to get it all over Grammie! Mum loves to come and clean us up but Grammie is on her own!

—————————————————————————————————-

This is what our little sparkle-eyed beauties look like now. They were born Feb. 17th from Darby and Einstein. and will be ready to go to their new homes after the middle of April. These are extremely well handled pups as I am bottle supplementing so am sitting in their whelping box several times a day. Dew claws are removed, nails have been done once a week (I clip off the little hook so they don’t scratch Darby and this teaches them to be good about nail clipping when they are older). They will have two sets of inoculations and come with lots of instruction on future boosters. They come with a 2 kg. bag and a can of the food they will be on. This gives the new family the option to slowly change to the brand of their choice or remain with what they will be eating when they are old enough. The price for my F1B pups is $900 and also includes delivery to major cities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

If you see a puppy you are interested in please let me know (refer to it by the stuffy or toy that is with it) and I will send you more pictures of that puppy.

—————————————————————————————————-

These were taken on the morning of March 2nd’s bottle supplementing, each pup has it’s own picture. They are 13 days old here (born Feb. 17th). Their eyes are open now, they will be ready to go mid April. These are Darby and Einstein‘s pups making them F1B Golden Doodles. If you would like to see a picture of Darby and Einstein click on the links on their names above. I am the most reasonably priced Doodle breeder out there with any kind of lineage and two year health guarantee. F1B pups are $900 delivered safely into your arms near major cities in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. I have purchased a registered Chocolate Standard Poodle named ‘Irving’s Travelin Cesar’ (after Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer). Once he comes into play in my breeding program the price of my pups is going to go up. Vet charges and dog food have both gradually climbed and I have absorbed the cost, I have actually had people asking why my pups are so much cheaper than other breeders so maybe it is time to narrow the gap.

It has become very time consuming to take pictures and send them individually to people on my waiting list that never get back to me, so if I do not hear from you then you will automatically be deleted from the list and I will then only update serious buyers. I am sometimes dealing with 20 plus buyers at any one time and wish to give the serious buyers quality time.

I am going to start advertizing them next week in the paper and as soon as I get some computer time they will go on line. So if you are interested in a puppy please let me know. I also have F1 and F1B Labra Doodles that will be ready mid to the end of April. If you would like a list of what is still available or pictures please let me know and I will gladly send you any information you require.

—————————————————————————————————-

This is what is keeping me out of trouble for the next month…. Darby (and I) had 12 hours of labor Friday February 17th. The result was a whopping 13 F1B Golden Doodle pups from Einstein. So bottle supplementing to help her out is the order of the day every two to three hours around the clock. She is really tired, as you can see in some of the pictures. So am I, which is why you only see my hands in the pictures! She takes her break when I am looking after the ‘kids’. Pup #9 and #10 tried to exit at the same time resulting in some pretty heavy duty labor for over an hour. They came out looking like two long sausages but within minutes were plumping up and looking for something to eat. There are 6 females and 7 males, so the pictures with 7 pups are the males. The picture of all of them is not an easy feat, they jockey for position and squirm around and this is literally a ‘dog pile’.

These are amazing little things: blind, ears closed, only their nose to go by and they find a tit and latch on…. heaven is sitting in a whelping box with pups to cuddle. All is well, everyone has a stong suck reflex and latch on to the bottle right away when I supplement. They know my smell now and nuzzle my coveralls looking for their bottle. Such amazing little animals, blind and deaf for the first two weeks of their life and yet so incredibly smart. This proves to me how strong their sense of smell is when they can squirm under the mums belly and latch on strictly from smell.

These pups are $900. That price includes delivery to major cities in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Dew claws have been removed, they will have two sets of boosters, be dewormed and come with a 2 kg. bag plus a “breakfast” can of the food they are used to. This gives the new family the option to slowly switch to the brand of their choice.

Please decide wisely when purchasing a puppy as it will live with your family for about 15 years.

Liberty & Leo

The captions that came with these pictures read:

Laying on their deck looking at the lake while Deb and I have morning coffee. What a super pair of dogs, just unreal.

and

Wearing her new winter coat and sporting a snow Covered snout

————————————————————————–

We just received this updated picture of Leo. He is looking good!

—————————————————————————

These are both Doodles from Fur Fettish Farm. I actually have quite a number of buyers who have purchased a second, and in this family, third, Doodle. The black female is Liberty and is one of Dinah and Pluto’s April 9th. 2011 pups.  Leo, the blonde male pup was actually dark red when he was born, and he is from Darby and Einstein’s February 17th. 2012 litter. It thrills me to no end to see pictures of my pups and what good dogs they have gone on to be. These two characters live at Beuna Vista, Sask. and I have two other Doodles, Indy and Ben, that live in that area also.

———————————————————-

This is Liberty.  She was born in the spring of 2011 to Dinah and Pluto.  Her owner told us:

Hi Margaret-Ann!!! Thank you for the Christmas note I have been meaning to drop you a note about Liberty. It is hard to explain just what an amazing animal she is, she was truly the missing link in our family. Liberty is so smart, affectionate and extremely loyal. We have completed our first session of obedience classes and she sailed through the class with amazing colors! Liberty literally goes everywhere with us she has attended baseball games, hockey games and numerous family events. She is very social and loves people and other animals. Each morning when I get up I still look at her in amazement and can’t believe she is ours. We treasure her and are so happy that you brought this beautiful puppy into the world to come and live with us in her forever home. Everyone that meets Libby instantly falls in love with her, I would recommend your pups to anyone and would be more than happy to provide a testimonial or chat with potential new parents you may have as I think the foundation you gave her is a big part of what makes her the perfect furry family member.

Darby scored an excellent retirement home on a ranch near Drayton Valley, Alberta. She has one of my Jack Russells as a buddy and apparently the barn cat….she loved the barn cats here and always let them sleep with her pups, so I’m glad she has a cat as a friend now.

———————————————————————-

Darby is now on a Ranch near Drayton Valley, Alberta.   Darby’s forever home is with a family that I have known for 25 years and have placed two Jack Russell’s with, so I am very happy that this will be Darby’s forever home!  Her new family told us:

Darby is doing great so far.  The family love her.  Grace was a little worried about petting her due to the ticks, but I assured her the ticks (and I haven’t noticed anymore) would not jump or willingly let loose of Darby.  After that, Grace loved and petted her lots.

She is such a playful dog.  Yes, she has smiled.  We love her already.

Today I am sad to say I have probably given Darby her last clip.  She is going for spay on May 22nd and home to recover and then on to her forever home….. people ask me how hard it is to sell my pups after so much of me goes into them…. not nearly as hard as letting one of my adult girls go!   I was there when this girl was born, I was there when her mother and grandmother were born and to me this is the saddest part of what I do for a living.   This is where I remind myself how many families I have made happy by placing one of my pups into their home to be a cherished member of their family.

I know I will get to see Darby again as I know where her new family are…. and this is why I do not ‘give’ one of my retired dogs to people I don’t know that just want a free dog.   Darby has, in my eyes, been my most outstanding F1 Golden Doodle, she will be a hard act to follow!   The downside of this bloodline has been the huge litters, the older I get the harder they are.   You would not believe how fat this girl is and she just weaned 14 pups…. I however, am 30 lbs. lighter!   I will miss this girl, she was so easy, not a barker, not a digger and it is not going to be the same doing chores without her smiles to greet me.

Darby Doodle extraordinaire, in my eyes this is my best F1 Golden Doodle.  She is the daughter of Kayden and Pluto and was born May 2nd., 2007.   She has had 2 litters of F1B Golden Doodles, fathered by Einstein, that rank at the top in my eyes for pups produced.   She will be bred the same way and should whelp in August or September 2011.   I took Darby to obedience classes and she did very well placing 5th in a class of 17.  Two of the dogs that took 1st and 3rd were pups from my breeding program, so I did not mind being beat.  Three of the top five dogs that placed were from here.

Darby is another of my girls that will hang around with me all day when I work outside, I have a combination of girls that can run for hours together when I am outside, Darby is always in that group.   She has excellent confirmation and produces very outstanding pups that are gentle, well put together lovable, loyal characters.

Darby weighs 50 lbs. and is 21 inches at the wither, so not a huge girl.  She does, however, have a full sister named Sophie that matured at 65 lbs. and is 23 inches at the wither.  Sophie is a longer legged girl with a bit more spring of rib and a most lovable personality.  Sophie is extremely smart, and knows tons of tricks….I get to visit her a few times a year and she knows who I am.  It is always such a bonus to me when I actually get to see and pet the ‘fruits of my labor’.

Kayden

Kayden’s new owners sent us some updated pictures!  They wrote, “Attached is the photo of my mechanic. She is a great gopher catcher, now if she could only get the weasel under the house.”

This girl is Kayden, now retired to a farm in the Three Hills area of Alberta.   Kayden was from Bailey, a very dark red Golden Retriever and Dexter of Telford Kennels, who is a platinum blonde awesome specimin of a dog.   Kayden had huge litters which kept me hopping to supplement.  She is the mother of Darby, who without a doubt is my most outstanding F1 Golden Doodle.  Darby thankfully  had only 7 pups in her first litter, and 8 in her second litter.  Darby will be bred this summer for her 2011 pups.
