Cooper

People need to be aware of the list of things I have posted that dogs should not ever be given or get into accidentally. This beautiful pup ate a whole bag of raisins on Thursday and almost didn’t make it. This picture was taken at the vet’s with is IV tube still in, and he is still smiling. Please refresh yourselves with the DO NOT eat list. Lucky for Cooper his owner got him to the vet in time. They sent us this update:

I went to visit him yesterday. He was very lively and they said that was a good sign – but they were doing a blood test in the evening. They phoned Adrian. His blood test was perfect and Adrian went to pick him up about 9 last night. I haven’t talked to him since.

The vet said that it was important that Adrian discovered what had happened and went in immediately. She said they can’t induce vomiting if 3 hours have passed. After 3 hours it’s a lot more serious. I put a warning on Facebook telling everyone that raisins are very toxic to dogs and cats apparently.

The vet said that they don’t know what it is in raisins that causes kidney failure. They are trying to discover what it is.

So Cooper, thank goodness is doing great. Adrian says he won’t be buying raisins in future!

Cooper is one of Kayden and Pluto’s pups from June 6th, 2009, so he is 4 now. A lot of people ask to see pictures of what the pup will look like when it is mature so this should be helpful. Cooper’s family is really happy with him!

Zenna & Mojo

We received some new pictures of Mojo and her sidekick Zenna. I have several people that now own two of my Doodles. I love it when my buyers send me pictures like this! Mojo and Zenna live at Lebret, Sask.

——————————————————

This black dog is Zenna, she is from Pluto and Katie’s Feb. 8th. 2007 litter and now she is getting a little brother from Dezi and Einstein’s June 20th, 2013 litter. I have gotten quite a few repeat buyers when they realize what a great dog they got the first time. The new pup is named MoJo and that is who the e-mail is sent to. I love this kind of interaction with my buyers, I know in my heart that my dogs (pups) will have a loving home here! Zenna wrote this to MoJo:

Heh MoJo:

Thought you would like to see pictures of your new family – Zenna is waiting for you to come and play with her. You never know what she will look like depending on the time of year and the groomer she uses, so am sending you a few so you will recognize her. She gets mighty hot in the summer with her black coat and needs a little cut now and then.

Zenna also came from where you were born so you will have a lot in common. Her nose may be a little out of joint when you first get here but not for long as she has been quite lonely here by herself. She likes to walk and has lots of things she wants to show you how to do. We are all looking forward to your arrival.

Will see you soon.

This is a beautiful picture of Lincoln, son of Debbie and Einstein, born August 25th. 2012. His maternal Grandfather, Pluto, my black Standard Poodle is here eating up the profits, I have not bred with him for a while now but he is such a faithful old man that I keep him around to ‘class up the place’. Lincoln’s father, Einstein is here as well, in his work clothes trying to get Lincoln some little brothers and sisters. Debbie will have her last litter this summer then she will get her forever home, I actually have people with a horse ranch in Alaska wanting her. Lincoln’s Great Grandfather, Trump, my English Black Lab is also here holding down the fort with Pluto. I can see the love in Lincoln’s eyes and I know he is the happiest dog in Winnipeg! Thanks Bob and Daisy for sending me this…give Linc a pat from his Grammie! They also sent a great video of Linc “enjoying his favorite activity”.

This is a short video clip and a few pics of Lincoln that I just received. I am sending this to everyone that owns one of his littermates in hopes to receive an update and maybe a picture. I would love to know how these guys are doing. I hear about Lincoln, who lives in Winnipeg, on a regular basis and feel very blessed that they stay in touch.

A & R is their carpet and flooring shop in Winnipeg, they have a great selection if someone in that area is looking for carpet or flooring. They wrote:

Another great shot of Linc at the lake. He is such a joyous, intelligent and hardworking dog. He is top dog at A&R and customers come back all the time to visit and give him treats. He definitely closes the sales! He is also very fit. He makes sure we go for our walks and play outside. Linc also has a very sensitive side and is very in tune to our emotional state. As you can tell he is a very important member of our family. We love him so much:)

Here are a couple of new pics from Linc’s family, who also wanted us to know:

I have attached a couple photos of Lincoln at the lake. One is of him and myself in the boat. The other is of him and his friend that is a miniature him! Lincoln’s favorite place is the lake since he’s so free. Although, he never goes too far from our family pack, he loves knowing where everyone is and keeping a protective watch on everything. Hope your summer is going well so far! We are now on a road trip to Banff!

——————————————————————————–

We received a couple of new pictures of Lincoln along with the following update from his owners:

Here are the two pictures I showed you yesterday of Lincoln’s first boat ride. He was a natural!

Linc’s owners sent us this video and mentioned:

We are all well and enjoying Linc more and more everyday! Sending you a short video of one of his many jobs he is proud to do.

——————————————————————————

This is  Lincoln, he is one of Debbie and Einstein‘s August 25, 2012 pups with Misty and Pluto being the grandparents…..now this is a beauty….this is what is keeping me going these days, the owners that continue to share the progress of their pup with me.  This is a picture of Linc fresh out of the beauty salon!

Deeva

Meet Deeva, the smiling F1 Labra Doodle. This girl was born here on Fur Fettish Farm on August 26, 2012. Her mother is Amber, an outstanding Chocolate English Labrador Retriever. Her father is Pluto, a now retired black Standard Poodle who is still with us, and at 12 1/2 years old is solid as a rock.

Deeva is a bit of a clown, she literally smiles, pulling her gums back and showing off her pearly whites. Her mature weight is about 65 lbs. She has a very nice flat English Retriever head and wide chest with good spring of rib. Her temperate is very much Lab, laid back and extremely loyal.

She is pregnant with her second litter of pups, due mid April 2016. She was bred to Einstein, who has produced many great Golden and Labra Doodles over the years.

—————————————————————-

Deeva, daughter of Amber and Einstein, is wishing everyone that visits our web site, a Merry Christmas….this girl just keeps looking better, I can hardly wait for 2014 when she and Cesar (Chocolate Standard Poodle) have their first pups. This is what keeps me ticking! I will be 65 this month and am hoping my old body holds together until I am 70 (for my dogs sakes) and then I will have to rethink my breeding program….until then I intend on producing some beautiful pups that will go on to become an important part of many homes! Merry Christmas from me, Margaret-Ann, and all my critters!

—————————————————————-

Check me out guys and keep an eye on this website in two years when I have my first birth announcement! I am from Amber and Einstein, I was born on August 26th. 2012, my Grandmother is Abbey and my Grandfather is Trump….all are English Labrador Retreivers, so I have a nice flat head, perfect eye and ear set and a nice barrel chest. My Dad, Einstein, is a registered Standard Poodle, he is apricot and has sired some of the best Doodle pups in Canada. I am destined to be bred to Cesar, a registered Chocolate Standard Poodle, when I am two….the results should be pretty outstanding. I am a very gentle, eager to please little girl that learns quickly…I have very good manners as that is the rule here on Fur Fettish Farm. Pictures of me will be updated as I get older, I am going to be a beauty….Margaret-Ann keeps telling me that and I am trying not to let it go to my head!

Cesar

Irving’s Travelin’ Cesar is the registered name of this awesome specimen of a Chocolate Standard Poodle….named after a man I admire ‘Cesar Milan’! This big guy just flows, he has flawless confirmation from head to toe and a gentle sweetheart personality to go with it.

His sire is Bellefleet Travelin’ Soldier and his dam is Bemine’s Someday Girl N Sanvar, both are Chocolate. We are getting ready to produce some of the best Chocolate Doodles in the country. I have three English Chocolate Labs that will be old enough to breed in the spring and two Golden Retrievers that are going to be bred to him also….so look for some well bred Doodles from Fur Fettish Farm next year.

Cesar is 1-1/2 now and has produced only one litter of pups so far, from Danni (F1 Labra Doodle). Eleven puppies and every one black….black is only a color as is Chocolate, his pups are already showing his great looks and personality. He is lanky looking now, like a teenager filling out. He is graceful, well coordinated and has great confirmation….he will definitely be bigger than either Einstein or Pluto. He will be breeding daughters from both of them next year to produce some outstanding F1B Doodles….so watch this site in the spring or contact me for an update of who he may be ‘camping out’ with next.

Hunter & Chase

We received some new pictures and this update from Hunter & Chase:

Chase is now 6 months old and is doing wonderfully well. He follows his big brother Hunter wherever he goes. He weighs in at 46 pounds and his body is starting to catch up to his legs. He had his first clip a few weeks ago and stole the heart of his groomer. His legs and face are starting to show the brindle. He is so loveable and cuddly and has the funniest personality. He loves the snow, going for walks and Hunter has taught him the finer points of treeing squirrels! As he was born at the lake, we are anxious to see how he likes camping this summer.  The 3 photos were taken just before Christmas.

——————————————————-

This post has been renamed to now include Hunter’s new little brother, Chase! Chase is one of Dory and Cesar’s July 9th. Red Lodge Park pups. Here is the latest from Hunter and Chase’s family:

Chase has settled in very well. He seems to think he is a big boy like his brother and they are forever running and play fighting. Hunter now gets down to his level to play and I no longer worry about how rough they are with each other. There’s the occasional yelp, but so far no blood or missing fur. He’s fully crate trained and puts himself to bed when Hunter heads down the hall around 9. He is coming around to the leash and stays by Hunter when we take them for their morning walk. He has the longest legs!

He goes to the door when he needs out to do his business and uses the same spot all the time. No concerns at all with him other than he would eat continually if we let him.

———————————————————-

Hunter’s family sent us a few new pictures. He is getting a little brother out of Dory and Cesar’s pups….they have the same grandfather…Pluto. They told us:

Hunter has become quite the camper. He loves the water and dives for rocks in the lake. He’s now a year and a half old, and full of pee and vinegar. He weighs in at 65 pounds and when not at the lake, he loves his long walks and chasing squirrels. He came face to face with a coyote in the spring and desperately wanted to play with it.

He butts everything with his nose when he wants attention….arms, legs, other dogs. We met another owner of one of your doodles and discovered their guy does the nose butt thing as well!

We get tons of compliments on what a beautiful dog he is. He can be intelligent, comical and puppy-brained all at the same time.

———————————————————-

Hunter is one of Dezi and Einstein’s pups from their May 4, 2012 litter. He is a real beauty! His owners filled us in on his status:

Hunter is doing well. He’s growing in leaps and bounds and weighs in at just over 30 pounds. He will finish his 1st round of puppy school tomorrow and is doing very well with sit, down and recall. We can hardly wait to start him in agility classes as he is already quite the jumper and speed demon. He’s met his match during playtime with a female Brittany Spaniel. It is amazing watching those 2 run and play. He’s very sociable with other dogs and loves people.

He can be very dominate towards me at times and wants to mouth on hands, but he is learning that it isn’t acceptable behaviour.

He loves his daily walks and handles the 1 hour jaunts very well. He’s chased a few rabbits, is fascinated by squirrels but detests seagulls. Everywhere he goes, he’s complimented on how handsome he is and how big he is for only being 5 months old. He adores our 4 grandsons. We’ve had a few knock downs, but all in all he’s very good with them.

Duncan

Duncan is one of my pups that stayed a little longer and I trained him, that is the way I am going to start going as I now have a list of people wanting a wells started dog. This is really what I should be doing for a living, starting dogs, but am a little crippled up for this although I love doing it. There is one kid missing out of this family picture, a little girl about three. This whole family met me to pick Duncan up, and I showed the kids how to handle him….looks like it was a success story.

————————————————-

Here is an updated picture of Duncan. My goodness what a beautiful dog….this is what keeps me going.

———————————————–

This is one of the May 4th F1B Golden Doodles with 5 of his 6 kids. I met the whole family when Duncan went to his new home at Meadow Lake…. this will certainly be a well loved puppy! His owners wrote:

This is Duncan with 5 of 6 kiddos, the youngest didn’t want to leave her snack for the photo! He had an awesome day today, went for a walk and did A LOT of running and playing fetch in the yard. He is just settling in for a nap now!

F1B Labra Doodle Litter (Debbie) – Born August 25, 2012

All Debbie’s puppies have now been SOLD!

Meet Ashlyn, daughter of Debbie (F1 Labra Doodle) and Einstein (Apricot Standard Poodle). They had 10 pups on August 25th. and this is the last pup to go to her forever home. Ashlyn has started her training with leash work and today gave the harness a try, this little girl actually already lays into the harness to start to pull so this was kind of a fun day for her and I.

She has had three sets of boosters, has been dewormed three times and has dew claws removed. She is clean, smart and loyal, loves kids and other critters….she is going to make someone a wonderful companion, we just need to find the exact right someone for her to love, someone that will love her back with a heart as big as she has. She has a wavy coat and I am going to go out on a limb her and say she will be a very low shedder, if she sheds at all.

She is $900, she is an F1B, as are Danni’s last four girls, I have slacked off on my job of getting them posted and advertized due to some health issues over the holidays but we will get the right girls to the right family eventually and that is what really matters. Older pups have a lot going for them with being able to sleep through the night and crate for longer if you are working…this pups is ready for obedience school and will dazzle you with how quick she will pick up on what you want of her.

For more pictures of this beautiful ‘sled dog’ call 306 792-2113 or use my contact page.

——————————————————————–

Debbie and Einstein now have only two pups available out of their litter of ten that were born on August 25th. This litter was bottle supplemented and well traveled, going to Alberta to a funeral at 24 hours old and then a trip to B.C. while their eyes were still closed….this was Debbie’s first litter and she really did take all this very well.

These are obviously well handled pups and they have the personalities to prove it. Ashlyn is a little quieter than her sister Karina but both are well adjusted, clean and robust F1B Labra Doodles with straighter coats….they will look like one of my retired dogs, Dayle, when they are mature but will be a bit on the smaller side….I am guessing they will mature at 50 lbs. tops.

They have three sets of boosters, are completely vet checked, dewormed and bomb proof to go anywhere you want them to go. Leash training has not started but if they are still here after Christmas they will be started with leash and obedience.

——————————————————————–

Here are some updated pictures of Debbie’s remaining puppies. They were taken on October 7.

For more information, or more pictures of a certain puppy please refer to it by the stuffy that is with it in the picture. This stuffy stays with this pup to help buyers distinguish which pup we are talking about, then accompanies the pup to it’s forever home so it has something familiar to cuddle. Use our contact page or call 306 792-2113 or 306 521-1371 or 403 919-1370 and I would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

——————————————————————–

Debbie’s pups are 5 weeks old now and eating from a dish, night time bottles are now a thing of the past.

Two are firmly adopted and three have prospective homes. They are real little go-getters, climbing the little stairs I made from scrap lumber to get in and out of their whelping box and to reach their water dish…they are really getting to the fun stage where they try to wrestle and run but aren’t quite coordinated enough yet so roll over and scamper around….I could just stay out and play with them all day.

——————————————————————–

Debbie (black F1 Labra Doodle from Pluto and Misty) and Einstein (Apricot Standard Poodle) wish to announce their August 25th, 2012 first litter of a whopping 10 puppies! These are F1B Labra Doodles. They were very tiny when they were born and Debbie needed help… so the bottling began. There is no good time for a funeral but this was really not a good time, when the pups were 24 hours old Debbie and I packed up the biggest crate in the back of my Durango and drove to Josephburg, Alberta, and back to pay our respects to a very dear old friend…. we were then only home two days when we repacked with a lot more supplies and drove to Armstrong, B.C., to take the Granddaughter home in time for school. By the time all this happened it was too late to book a flight. So these ten little characters and Debbie are now a well-traveled crew. You have not lived until you have stopped at a gas station every four hours to get hot water to warm a bottle for 10 hungry puppies!

These pups have dew claws removed, now have their first boosters and will get the second booster and their complete vet check before they are ready to meet their new family about Oct. 27th. They will be dewormed and are obviously extremely well handled pups, little sharp tips are clipped from their nails once a week, paw massages are done daily….all of this creates a very lovable puppy. The price is $900, which includes being delivered by me, not shipped, to most towns or cities in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

For more information, or more pictures of a certain puppy please refer to it by the stuffy that is with it in the picture. Dexter

This is one of my first Doodles, Dexter is the son of Kelly (Golden Retriever) and Pluto (Black Standard Poodle) born Feb. 1st. 2006. Dexter was one of 13 puppies and he has done some pretty awesome things in the last nine years! Dexter is an F1 Golden Doodle. I love to hear from my Doodle owners no matter how old and what they have achieved. One of Dexters full sisters, Dixie, same litter went on to produce three litters of F1B Golden Doodles. Dixie is now retired and living on a farm near here with four children to keep her busy. Dexter’s family shared this news with us:

I wanted to send you this newsletter to let you know what our Dexter is up to these days. He was selected as one of the first dogs to volunteer at the RMH here in Edmonton in a pilot program. He has been to the orientation day so far which went really well and his next visit is this Saturday. The kids loved him- a very sweet little girl came in so excited to see him and said to her Mom “this is the dog I was telling you about from the newsletter”. As for me, nothing better than spending Valentine’s Day with my handsome boy.

The old kitty in the picture with him went “Home” in the fall. She was 17+ years and with us for 15 of those. With the exception of the occasional “school yard beating” from the odd feral cat she pretty much lived a nice peaceful life and as you can see loved her puppies. She lived with as many as 5 different dogs in her life and she instantly made friends with all but one (We took in Darin’s Grandma’s dog who was near 16 by the time she came to live at our house and it was like living with two old ladies-they never fought but they stayed clear of one another and cut the odd dirty look); however, Dexter was by far the closest to her.

—————————————————————

Dexter, of Stony Plain, got an awesome owner who has him certified as a dog that can visit hospitals, airports etc., I am just thrilled when one of my dogs goes on to be more than just a dog sitting in the back yard. Dexter is one of my originals from 2006. I kept his sister Dixie, who has gone on to have three litters of F1B Golden Doodles and then retire to a farm home near here. These are the stories that keep me going. His owner wrote:

Just a quick line to let you know Dexter was part of a pilot project at the Edmonton international airport to do some pet “therapy” for weary travelers heading home for Easter. They told us it is the first airport in Canada to try this and from what they said it went over great. If it gets accepted we will probably be back for the thanksgiving weekend. My Boy needs a haircut and a lady who saw him from behind thought he was a lamb! It was great fun.

I do love my boy and I am proud of what a great sport he is about volunteering and how enthusiastic he always is to “go to work”. He has brought tears to people’s eyes and experienced so much love and gratitude from the people he visits it would just fill your heart. Many have a dog story of their own and I swear Dex is listening to every word. I am so grateful that Dex started out in such a good home and with so much love and affection from day one, I have no doubt that great start is what makes him such a good therapy dog.

—————————————————————–

This is Dexter! He is one of Kelli and Pluto‘s pups from 2006, and he is a beauty! He is also Dixie‘s full brother. His owner wrote to tell us:

I thought you would enjoy knowing that Dexter and I are officially part of the Pet Therapy Society of Alberta and have completed their pet education program which allows us to act as a companion team. We have been volunteering some time each week to visit patients at one of the hospitals in the city. I am not sure where this will take us as there are many volunteer options open to us but we are having a lot of fun. Dexter excelled in class and brings many smiles on his visits. Here he is in his Pet Therapy scarf. He just got home from a two week vacation at our home in Las Vegas which he enjoyed, we drove, and he traveled very well.
