Maggie (Melfort)

This is one of Danni and Cesar‘s Sept. 8th litter, I delivered her to Melfort and these kids were so excited to get a puppy…..what a great (and scary) story about Maggie:

I have been meaning to send you an update with pics of Maggie. She is doing really well and we love her to bits!!!

She continues to be great with the kids (1 and 2 years). She is so calm and gentle with them. It’s sweet how she follows us throughout the house and just lays down.

She loves to play outside and has the perfect energy level for our family. She will play hard in the yard and then relax in the house.

We had quite the scare with her at the end of Feb. We had her spayed and a few days later noticed her incision was splitting open. We were surprised because she didn’t chew at her stitches and she wasn’t at all rambunctious. We took her to the vet who examined her and he thought it would heal on its own. That night we were invited out for supper. When we returned, poor Maggie was in rough shape and her incision was wide open! She was rushed into emergency surgery and was stitched up the old-school method. She is fine but it was quite a scary experience!!

We finished beginner obedience last night. She catches on to new things quickly so she did fairly well (2nd in the class). It’s the handler that needs to do better! There might be a beginner agility in June so I hope to take her (she won’t do any jumping).

We are still working on reducing her barking. It’s her one bad habit. She barks when people come in the house but within 5-10 mins she’s calm. She was the barker at dog obedience so we plan to continue to expose her to new people and other dogs. She’s friendly and not at all aggressive, just a little unsure at first.

Hope spring is here soon! We are all desperate to get outside more.

Rose

Rose lives in Regina with her ‘special man’ Troy, I can tell he thinks the world of this dog and the pictures show how much time he spends with her. Awesome report, I am sad that I am getting old and will have to stop my breeding program sometime in the next four years.

Just thought I’d say hi and give you an update on Rose. She is still a fantastic dog and we continue to have great adventures together. Just got her clipped short on Wednesday and here she is yesterday at the Dog park. As you can see she loves the water and the ball. Had a proud owner moment when I took her to the vet in the spring and they told me she was the first that they didn’t have to tell them to lose weight that spring. Thanks again for your fantastic foundation, she is such a great dog, everyone who meets her tells me so.

Rose’s family sent us these pictures and wrote:

Rose and I are both happy and healthy. She is awesome in fact. Very well behaved, doesn’t beg for food or bark incessantly. Se can get a little excited when people that she knows come to visit but she settles down pretty fast. She’s learned a few ‘tricks’ and could learn many more but for her owner, haha. She is a fantastic fetcher and will run after the ball for hours. I’ve had her all over western Canada and she travels very well. Also is an incredible swimmer and is hard to keep her out of the water, especially the dirty creeks that I’d rather her stay out of, haha. She has learned to jump out of the boat and off the dock with and without her life jacket. As always she is still fantastic with her crate, a simple ‘kennel up’ and she goes right there regardless what room we are in. I hope all is well you and your large furry family, best of luck in the new year.
I’ve included a few pictures, I hope you like. As she is black she is not the most photogenic but let me assure you she is a one majestic looking dog.

Here is a video of Rose showing off some of her tricks! Her owner wrote:

Hi Margaret-Ann, just wanted to give you an update, Rose is still doing fantastic. She just got a hair cut and boy does she look different. She had some matting issues so they cut it real short. She looks real sleek now, can really see her beautiful build. Just wanted to tell you again how happy I am with Rose, she’s just awesome. Everyone that meets her, and she’s met quite a few as I’m a social guy loves her. The groomer was amazed that she had never had been cut before, a testament to your amazing work with your critters.

Here is a video of her playing fetch in the house. She has a real good grasp of fetch in the house. Not as good outside. Drop she has down. And she is definitely getting better at sit.

Rose is from Danni and Cesar‘s litter born Sept. 8, 2012.  Another happy buyer….this is what keeps me going and I sincerely thank the buyers who ‘keep me in the loop’! Rose’s owner contacted us to say:

Hi Margaret-Ann, I figured you might like an update on Rose. She is an incredible pup, and happy as can be. I had her spayed last Friday and so far she is her normal happy self. The Vet office was very impressed with her as she didn’t whimper and whine, the secretary told me she forgot that she was there as she didn’t make a peep after she was put in her Kennel.
Anyways here are a few pictures from our first road trip a few weeks back to Fernie, BC. She thoroughly enjoyed herself as did I. Hope all is well in Fur Fettish land. And the other picture is from yesterday after I let her have a break from the “Cone of Shame”

Boone

I am getting a lot of glowing reports on my pups, it is what keeps me going. I am slowly downsizing and the plan is to be done breeding Doodles in 3 1/2 years, hopefully I can hang on until then. I have some seriously old dogs here now, some of the foundation males are getting up there but still healthy and happy. Becki-Sue, my old Jack Russell will be 14 in November and is still raising cane with the gopher holes. Boone’s family sent us these pictures and told us:

Has been awhile since I updated you on Boone. I didn’t think we could adore someone as much as we do Boone. What a people person kinda breed. He absolutely loves being with us as much as we love being with him. His favorite activity is going to the dog park and chasing his ball, finding mud puddles and laying in the creek. This summer we introduced him to the pontoon and he LOVES it (as you can see in one of the pictures). We are off to the lake this weekend for more fun on the boat and on the beach.

————————————————————-

Here is an update on Boone! This is the first time anyone has sent me pictures of one of my Doodle with a full years coat on him…..holy cow! He will be a year old this month and I am betting he is looking forward to spring and his first hair cut, not so much his little operation that is on the horizon. Looks like he has scored himself a castle with loving servants in it! His family wrote:

As it gets closer to Boone’s one year birthday I thought I should update you on how well this big beautiful boy is doing. The pictures I have attached were taken recently, isn’t he absolutely gorgeous, we love him so much. We have yet to shave him, my family likes the long bushy look but he will be getting shaved for the spring because we have a place out at Katepwa and could be hard to find wood ticks with all this hair.

Anyway about Boone, he is big ball of energy. Loves going for walks and being outside, especially after it snows and my husband shovels. He is so affectionate and loving. We have had no health issues with him. In the next month or two we will be getting him fixed. Our vet told us they like to wait now till they are one year old, something to due with their hips.

Thank you again for this big beauty. After he gets his first haircut I will send pictures.

Some updated pictures of Boone, whose owners wrote:

Thought I would send an updated picture of Boone. He is doing great, a ball of energy and we love him to pieces. He loves the water, can’t keep him out of the sprinkler when I water the grass. Can’t wait to take him to the lake this weekend.

—————————————————–

An update from Boone’s owners reads:

Just a little update on Boone. The picture is after running around in the
yard in the snow and now he is having a nap beside me.

He is doing really good. He is doing awesome with the potty training,
hasn’t messed in the house for quite a few days now, helps that I am at
home with him. And he is such a good sleeper and very cuddly at night. The
family absolutely adores him, my sons can’t wait to see how big he is
going to get.

————————————————–

We’ve already received an update from Boone’s happy owners! He seems to be having no trouble adjusting to his new life:

Boone has adjusted very well to his new home. He is loving playing outside in the yard, discovery new things every day. We enjoy him so much. No crying at night and we only have to get up with him once to take him outside. My boys absolutely love him! This weekend he is going on a car ride to our trailer at Katepwa Lake. We are really excited to see him out there this year with all the birds and squirrels.

———————————————–

Boone is from Darby and Cesar‘s litter born Feb. 26, 2013.  His new owners are already in love and told us:

We have only had him for a few hours and we are so in love with Boone.
Thank you again and I will keep you updated with pictures as he grows up.

Deeka (Pleasing)

Deeka is one Winnie and Cesar March 3rd. pups, I sold her as a trained dog when my health started giving me the gears again. I presently have two litters of seven that are a week old from Cesar and Tigger, so the same breeding as Deeka, and one from Amber and Cesar that are six weeks old now.

———————————————————————–

Deeka’s new family is enjoying her very much. They sent us a couple pictures and wrote:

Hi Margaret-Ann. Thought I would let you know how Deeka is doing. She is an amazing dog and we couldn’t be happier with her. Our boys absolutely love her. She was pretty timid the first day and I could tell she was missing you. She is settling in really good now and is really starting to be herself. She loves to be outside! We really like how she never barks or jumps up on you. We can’t believe how well behaved she is for a 6 month old dog. She is very smart too…..she is putting her mouth over the door handles and trying to open the doors! Lol. She is doing really good on her walks too. She really likes her new bed and has no problems going to her kennel. Thank you so much for Deeka and all the hard work you put into her before she came to be with us! She is great!!

———————————————————————-

This is Deeka, she was to be kept back for breeding but I am feeling a little overwhelmed with Bob’s broken Scapula and no backup for help so I offered Deeka up for sale, she is going to Souris, Manitoba on Thursday as a well started dog. I am sorry to see her go, she has everything I am looking for in a breeding female, I do still have Della and Desta for 2015 breeders. I took some pictures of her during training today.

——————————————————————–

Meet Deeka (Pleasing), Winnie and Cesar’s female (born March 3, 2013) kept back for a breeder in two years, along with her sister Desta (Joy), in hopes that my health will hold, these girls will go on to produce some outstanding F1B Labra Doodle pups in 2015 when they are two…..it is this kind of anticipation that keeps me going.

If any of you ever get the chance to see the Watoto Children’s Choir from Africa, this will be a life changing event. Such beautiful children, who, through no fault of their own, have been left orphaned by parents with AIDS or that have simply thrown their arms in the air in defeat and walked away from the family, leaving elderly and distraught grandparents to try to raise these hungry children. This is why these pups have the names they do, they are African names, these children have seen hard times like our own (screaming for a toy in Wal Mart) children have never even thought of as a reality of life. I solemnly urge you to go and see these children, that are happy and smiling, even though they know they are soon returning to their continent of despair….they are truly an inspiration!

I am so thrilled with these pups, you can not imagine…..it will be hard to hand them over to their new homes but that is the name of this game….produce the best quality Labra Doodle pups possible to be a valued member of a family for the next 15 years.

Desta (Joy)

Desta was born Feb. 21st. 2013 and is my pick of the litter to carry on this bloodline by being bred to produce F1B Labra Doodle puppies in 2015 when she is two years old. She is from Robyn and Cesar and is a gorgeous pup, everything about this girl screams perfection……she has the right stop, the correct eye set, correct leg placement, barrel chest, long back and perfect tail set….so we have a winner. I am hoping to breed this girl to Einstein, he has flawless confirmation also….so anyone watching my web site should watch this girl grow up. I will update pictures of her as she grows into a mature female.

F1 Labra Doodle Litter (Winnie) – Born March 3, 2013

All Winnie’s puppies have now been SOLD!

Jeff was born March 3rd. from a litter of ten, all ten are deep, rich chocolate. Now that his moustache is growing it is reddish brown, giving him a very wise look. He has beautiful yellow/gold eyes and behind those eyes is a puppy brain that is at work trying to figure out what this becoming a dog is all about. Jeff has three sets of boosters, is vet checked and dewormed, and is well on his way to being a very well leash trained young man.

Jeff will weigh about 70 lbs. when he is grown, he is a solid pup that is starting to stretch up as his legs are growing. He is a well coordinated pup, not a gangly clumsy fellow, he follows right at my side during training, does all the obstacles and boardwalk with ease, we are working on ‘down’, ‘stairs’ and ‘stay’ this week. Yesterday’s reward for Jeff was to spend the day with an older male Retriever, up to this point he has only been in with other pups his age….so for the first time he was not the boss but he assumed his role within minutes and the play was on full tilt. I like my pups to run off some energy before I ask them to concentrate in training sessions so they go from play time to training and then a rest and then they can go play again. Several small training sessions rather than one long one is the answer.

Jeff is now $1,000 as he has a month’s training into him, the price will go up again the end of July as he progresses with obedience. So far Jeff has only one bad habit, I think I need to send him to AA as he can’t hold his licker, I have been getting after him about it but he seems to think he can sneak at least one lick in each session. Other than that, he is coming along right on schedule with everything I am asking him to do. I teach a few new things each week, he ties up very well, does a little barking when I walk away but ignoring it seems to be the answer with him and within 5 minutes he has settled down. Tying is a big part of leash work, it shows the pup that when he comes to the end of the lead that he has to stop….then when he is leashed he is a lot more receptive to obeying the boundary of the leash. My pups do not lead me, they are taught to walk beside me and sit as soon as I stop….Jeff has that totally mastered.

This guy has hunting dog in his background, so he would love to flush some grouse or partridge for you, or even retrieve a duck, next year he will be big enough to retrieve a goose. Jeff would love to have a family that is active, so he can join in on the fun….sitting by a campfire, going to the beach and veg’ing out in the back yard are all on his bucket list.

For further information call 306-792-2113 or text 306-521-1371 or use my contact page. The price of the pup includes delivery to a meeting place close to or in your city.

———————————————————————————–

Jeff was born March 3rd., his mother is Winnie, a solid, well built Chocolate English Labrador Retriever, she weighs 60 lbs. and his dad is Cesar, a Chocolate Standard Poodle that weighs between 50 lbs. and 55 lbs. (depending on whether he is in love or not). Jeff is a pup with quiet mannerisms and a very gentle nature, he has just started his leash work and is one of those pups who looks to me for direction on what I want him to do next, he is quick to respond once he figures out what it is I am asking of him. He has mastered my boardwalk after a little encouragement, he sits almost every time I stop now without prompting. We will start stairs and ‘stay’ next week. Once I start intense training the price, which is $900 now, will increase by $100 a month.

Jeff has never been allowed to jump on me, he has never been allowed to lick or tug on clothing. He has never been on a piece of furniture. He has had access to a crate with the door off, he has now had two full days of being tied to a dog house in the day (this teaches them that when they come to the end of the chain they can go no further….I do not allow pups to lead me, they are taught to stay at my side where they belong).

He has three sets of boosters and has been dewormed three times, his next vet visit should be at 6 months of age for neutering (September), and at that time he need his Rabies booster, and another deworming. For further information call 306-792-2113 or text 306-521-1371 or use my contact page. The price of the pup includes delivery to a meeting place close to or in your city.

———————————————————————————–

Winnie (English Chocolate Lab) and Cesar (Chocolate Standard Poodle) have only one Chocolate Male pup remaining, Jeff, at $900. This pups was born on March 3rd, so is now 12 weeks old. He has had three sets of boosters and has been dewormed three times. Dew claws have been removed and this pup has been very well handled, he had his first leash session yesterday. He was not impressed at the start but by the time pictures were done and we took a few late afternoon ‘drags’ around the yard he started to get the idea that if he moved his feet he didn’t plough up as much grass and gravel!

Winnie and Cesar’s son is going to be about 60 to 75 lbs. and about 23 to 26 inches at the wither.

The price of the pup includes delivery safely into your arms….I do not ship my pups. For more information call 306 792-2113 or text 306 521-1371 or use my contact page.

————————————————————————————————–

Winnie and Cesar now have only three shaggy coated Chocolate Males available.   They have three sets of boosters, have been dewormed twice and are very well handled…. the trick here is manners, manners, manners.   They have not been allowed to lick or put their feet up on me, they come when they are called and are loving, gentle and kind characters, which also describes both parents!   I have been getting rave reviews on both Robyn and Winnie’s pups that are in their forever homes….I am very confidant that these guys will not be here long…They are $900 and that is the delivered price with all the paper work in order.

—————————————————————————————————

Winnie and Cesar now have only four male Chocolate F1 Labra Doodle pups available. They were born March 3rd and are just ready to go now. They have had two sets of boosters, have been dewormed twice and dew claws are removed. These boys will mature at about 60 to 70 lbs. and be minimal to non shedding. They are all deep, rich chocolate in color and will be wavy to shaggy coated. They will be extremely easy to train as they have brains on both sides of the family as well as loyalty, and gentle temperament being the outstanding quality of the parents. The price of these guys is $900 and that price includes delivery to Central Prairie Provinces….people from further away can meet me part way or fly to Regina or Saskatoon and I will meet you are the airport….sorry but I do not ship my puppies in the Cargo of a plane with nobody to watch out for them. Call 306 792-2113 or text 306 521-1371 or use my contact page for more information. Refer to the pup you are interested in by the toy or stuffy that accompanies it in the picture.

——————————————————-

Winnie and her sister Robyn, Chocolate English Labs, have both whelped. Both were bred to Cesar who is my Chocolate Standard Poodle. These pups are all a deep rich Chocolate and the females are already spoken for, and a few of Robyn’s males who are 10 days older. These are jaw dropping beautiful pups, I have waited a long time for them since I do not breed for color but deep inside yearned to produce some Chocolate pups before I retired (I am hoping to go another five years before the program I have going now is complete) I was more than thrilled when we sat in the whelping box and delivered one chocolate pup after another. This is first litter for both girls, who were 2 on Dec. 3rd. 1012, I do not breed my girls before they are two years old as I do not think their head is ready until then (especially Labs) and then I give them a year before they are bred again….most dogs only have 3 litters, some have four, but then they are retired to a farm or acreage home. This has been a long wait and I bought Winnie, Robyn and their sister Tigger when they were pups and watched them mature into gorgeous girls and they have not disappointed me with the quality of pups we have here!

Dew claws are removed before they are 48 hours old, they are dewormed, will have two sets of boosters and a complete vet check before leaving me. I do not ship my puppies so if you work for an airline you will just have to understand that I do not like what happens to puppies in Cargo while waiting for a flight or actually on the flight in cargo hold…..I deliver my pups to most places and place them safely into the arms of their forever family. Delivered price is $900.

Both litters have females but they are now already spoken for. For more information, or pictures of a certain pup, refer to it by the toy in the pictures with it and I will send you all the pictures I have of that particular puppy, I try to update my pictures weekly. Call 306 792-2113 or text 306 521-1371 or use my contact page.
